Privacy Policy for PipeHound

Last Updated: July 17, 2026

Summary

PipeHound is a plumbing-code reference assistant for the trades. It has no accounts, no analytics, no advertising, and no third-party tracking SDKs. We do not collect, sell, or share personal information.

What Stays on Your Device

Deleting the app removes its data from your device.

Voice Input

PipeHound offers optional voice input using Apple's speech recognition. Transcription is performed on-device whenever possible. Audio recordings are not sent to our servers — only the final transcribed text of your question is sent when you submit it. Microphone and speech-recognition access are used solely for this feature and can be revoked anytime in iOS Settings.

What Is Sent to Our Server

When you ask a question, the text of that question and your selected state (used to pick the right plumbing code) are sent over HTTPS to our self-hosted PipeHound backend so it can generate an answer. Questions are processed to produce the response and are not used to identify you, build a profile, or serve advertising. We do not link questions to any user identity (there are no accounts).

Information We Do NOT Collect

Purchases

If in-app purchases or subscriptions are offered, they are processed by Apple. We never see your payment card details.

Professional Disclaimer

PipeHound is a reference aid, not a substitute for the published plumbing code or your local code authority. Always verify answers against the code as adopted in your jurisdiction and confirm with your Authority Having Jurisdiction (AHJ) before performing work.

Children's Privacy

PipeHound is rated 4+ and does not knowingly collect personal information from anyone, including children.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will post the new policy on this page and update the "Last Updated" date.
