PipeHound is your plumbing-code field dog — ask code questions in plain English, hands-free with voice input, and get answers with code-section citations for your state.
PipeHound requires an API key to reach its backend. Keys are issued directly — email us at the address below to request access.
The current release covers Colorado (2021 IPC with state amendments) and California (2025 California Plumbing Code, based on the 2024 UPC). Pick your state in the bar above the question box and PipeHound answers from the right code. More states are coming.
Tap the large mic button, ask your question, and PipeHound stops listening after a couple seconds of silence and drops the text into the question box. Transcription happens on-device when possible. If the mic button is disabled, grant Microphone and Speech Recognition access in iOS Settings → PipeHound.
Answers are generated by a live model, so complex questions can take up to a minute. If you see a connection error: check your signal or Wi-Fi, wait a moment, and try again. If it persists, the server may be under load — try again shortly.
Yes. Chat history and your API key are stored only on your device. There are no accounts and no tracking. See the Privacy Policy.
PipeHound is a reference aid. Always verify against the plumbing code as adopted in your jurisdiction, and confirm with your AHJ before you run pipe. The app cites the relevant code sections so you can check fast.
Open Settings in the app to update or clear the stored key.
